Dave Porter, a talented and versatile indie songwriter and musician from southwest Virginia. Praised as a "first-call" session bassist, David wrote, arranged, sang and played many of the instruments on his debut CD "Desire". With influences ranging from The Beatles to Stone Temple Pilots, the songs are an eclectic ensemble of life experiences and emotions from the past several years. 

Dave has written, arranged and performed music for a huge variety of successful, regional bands; appeared on dozens of CDs and television commercials; and is considered a "first-call" session musician/bassist at local recording studios. His musical influences include The Beatles, Jellyfish, Rush, No Doubt, Sting, King's X, Jaco Pastorius and Stone Temple Pilots... to name a few. 

Dave's musical goals are to create music from life experiences with honesty and integrity. His debut CD "Desire" is no exception. Dave paints sonic landscapes of love, joy, heartache, pain and loss using an eclectic palette of sound and rhythm, often overdubbing almost every instrument and vocal himself.
