| Singer, songwriter and rock violinist
Mike Mitchell makes his solo debut with a smashing collection of sound
and flavor. “The vision for High & Lively is one of variety”, says
Mitchell. “ So many CDs these days repeat the same song over and over with
different words.” High & Lively explores musical territories rarely
heard by today’s artists; from the hard charging, radio-friendly Gentle
Spirit to the Native American flavor of Tatankwa, blended with the 70’s
rock sound of the outer-space themed trilogy, and newgrass cuts Cliché
and Mindless in Gmajor, High & Lively takes the listener on an instrumental
and lyrical journey. In Mike’s words, “you don’t have to play three different
CDs to hear all the music you like anymore.”
29 year-old Mike Mitchell has been playing music some 25 years now. His early beginnings as a classical violin student, symphony player, and violin performance major have led him to a life as a recording artist and rock performer. Mike has recorded and released several successful albums with both rock and acoustic bands, and he has performed on over 25 records as a session player/singer.
